Job description

Assistant Principal at Mechanicsville High School. Vice President - The Gingerbread Cottage Preschool, Inc.

Gingerbread Cottage Preschool is seeking a qualified part-time Preschool Teacher to lead a class for the 2025-26 school year. This class will meet weekly 3-4 days per week (exact days to be determined). Work hours are from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. The student to teacher ratio is capped at 9:1. Additional pay opportunities are available for participation in our early drop-off and after-school programs. Staff are also compensated for weekly planning, staff meetings, and 16 hours of mandatory professional development annually.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Preschool or Elementary School Teacher (required)
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Implement the GBC curriculum for preschool students
• Employ various educational techniques such as storytelling and educational center play
• Observe children to support social skills and self-esteem development
• Encourage positive peer interactions
• Guide children in developing artistic and practical skills (shapes, numbers, colors, crafts, etc.)
• Supervise children to ensure safety at all times
• Track and report children’s progress to parents
• Collaborate with other educators
• Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment
