Preschool Teacher - YMCA Early Learning Child Care (Part time)

Position Details

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking enthusiastic Preschool Teachers for our Early Learning Preschool program at The Life Church RVA (5515 Bryce Ln, Richmond VA 23224) and Liberation Church (5501 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond VA 23225). The pay rate for this position is between $14-$16 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

1. Assist the program and classroom, supporting curriculum implementation within established guidelines.
2. Perform activities ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of enrolled children.
3. Create an environment that fosters social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development.

Qualifications

• Passion for youth development and alignment with the Y mission.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; related experience or college courses preferred.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage and inspire children with warmth, clear instructions, and developmentally appropriate practices.

Additional Requirements

• Complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff online prior to first shift.
• Complete CPR & First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
• Bilingual or fluent in Spanish preferred, but not required.
