Job summary

YMCA Hartford is seeking an Assistant Teacher 1 for part-time shifts, 7am-9am and 3pm-6pm, to support the Head Teacher and supervise preschoolers. The role includes classroom support, outdoor play, and safe, healthy environment practices.

You will assist in developing and implementing age-appropriate activities, document attendance and reports, and uphold YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Bilingual a plus (Spanish/English).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ECE development and standards.
• Warm and nurturing personality.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Teacher in daily classroom supervision and outdoor play.
• Promote inclusive, anti-racist practices and a brave, respectful culture.
• Help implement developmentally appropriate curriculums and timely reports.
