Job summary

The Children's Development Academy (CDA) is a nonprofit providing affordable early learning programs and childcare for children from low-income families. We are seeking an experienced early childcare professional to work in our NAEYC accredited, Quality Rated program at 89 Grove Way, Roswell, GA 30075.

The Teacher Assistant in our 3-year-old classroom supports the co-teachers and the administration by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to

Qualifications

• Experience in preschool or early childhood education preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles.
• Must be able to reliably commute to 89 Grove Way, Roswell, GA 30075.
• CPR/First Aid certification: current preferred; if not certified, certification required on hire.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to learn and follow CDA procedures.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse staff and populations.

Responsibilities

• Follow a daily schedule including centers, outside time, music and movement, story time, and dismissal support.
• Foster a positive, nurturing classroom environment that promotes learning and development.
• Communicate with parents to provide feedback on their child’s day.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized classroom environment.
• Build relationships with families and coworkers; work well in a team.
• Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.
• Support center goals around accreditation and engagement with leadership collaboration.
• Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, licensing authorities, and community partners.
• Be physically able to sit, stand, move, and lift up to 40 pounds; work indoors or outdoors.
