Job summary

Passaic County Community College is seeking a part-time Pre-College Instructor for HS Math, English, Science. The role supports College Bound, GEAR UP, and Upward Bound programs with engaging curriculum and data-driven instruction.

The instructor will work on Saturdays for six weeks, 8:30 am–1:30 pm, using online tools when needed and collaborating with program staff to promote student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; certification in related subject area preferred.
• At least one year of classroom teaching experience with adolescents.
• Knowledge of effective instructional practices and classroom management.
• Willingness to attend training to utilize the credit recovery platform.
• Comfortable leading online lessons using Google Meet and/or Zoom.
• Must be available for the six-week program.

Responsibilities

• Part-time, Fall – Spring (20 Saturdays) 8:30 am – 1:30 pm (up to 10 hours/week).
• Proficient with technology.
• Collect, analyze and maintain student data to improve outcomes.
• Plan and deliver engaging curriculum using culturally responsive practices.
• Establish and maintain relationships with Pre College personnel.
• Facilitate ongoing monitoring and assessment of student progress.
