Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a Power Plant Operator to join the Dearborn Maintenance Team. This part-time role (16 hours) supports the central heating, cooling and water systems for the Medical Center, operating boilers, pumps and chillers.

You will follow safety procedures and documentation practices to ensure reliable facility operations. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and maintenance training, with 3 years’ experience in a central plant or related equipment, plus a valid

Qualifications

High School Diploma and post-secondary maintenance training.
Valid driver’s license and SEHC insurance requirements.
3 years’ experience operating a central plant with high-pressure steam equipment or 3 years maintaining similar equipment or 18 months with St Elizabeth in Maintenance.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, chillers and related equipment.
Monitor steam, hot water, chilled water and domestic systems.
Respond to emergencies and follow SOPs for the Power Plant.
Document routine and extraordinary events in log sheets or systems.
Monitor Building Automation System and coordinate with Maintenance team.
