Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. is seeking workers for the poultry operations in our Wakefield-area facilities.

You will be responsible for husbandry of birds and egg production, ensuring proper temperature, lighting, feed, water, and clean environments across shifts. Duties include operating houses, monitoring water and temperatures, keeping records, assisting maintenance, and adhering to safety and sanitary standards.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required.
• Must be 18+ years old.
• Must be physically able to lift 20 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Ability to read simple words and follow instructions.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operates poultry houses and manages birds 3 days/ week in some houses and 2 days/ week in others.
• Maintains water, feed, temperature, and sanitary conditions.
• Disinfects houses and maintains equipment.
• Monitors mortality and egg loss; reports issues to supervisor.
• Keeps daily charts on water, temperatures, and maintenance.
• Travels to and work at multiple locations as required.
• Adheres to safety policies and food safety standards.
