Cross Gates Family Fitness/Franco's Athletic Club is seeking a reliable Part-Time Pool Operator to manage early-morning opening operations for its aquatic facilities. You will ensure water quality, safety, and readiness for members each day.

The role requires waking early, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a fast-paced club environment. Certification is preferred, with willingness to obtain within 30 days. Perks include free club membership and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) preferred (or willing to obtain within 30 days).
• Basic pool chemistry knowledge and familiarity with aquatic equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate vacuum equipment.

Responsibilities

• Open facility at 4:30 AM and complete opening checklist.
• Conduct safety inspections of pool deck and pump rooms.
• Remove/store heavy pool covers and ensure areas are neat and accessible.
• Daily cleaning: vacuuming, skimming, brushing walls/tiles.
• Test and log water chemistry; calibrate controllers to standards.
• Inspect pumps/filtration and report maintenance needs.

Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Pool Operator to handle the early-morning opening operations of our aquatic facilities. In this role, you will ensure our pools are clean, safe, balanced, and fully prepared for members before the club opens each morning.

Responsibilities:

• Facility Opening: Arrive promptly at 4:30 AM to execute the opening checklist, unlock the aquatic area, and prepare all pools and hot tubs for early-morning member access.
• Safety & Walk-Throughs: Conduct meticulous morning inspections across the pool deck, pump rooms, and surrounding aquatic areas to ensure complete safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
• Pool Deck & Equipment Care: Safely remove and store heavy thermal covers/tarps, ensuring all pool areas are neat, accessible, and ready for use.
• Comprehensive Cleaning: Maintain pristine water conditions by daily vacuuming, skimming debris, and brushing pool walls and tile lines across all pools and spas.
• Water Chemistry & Calibration: Perform daily water quality testing (pH, chlorine, total alkalinity, etc.), log accurate records, and calibrate automated chemical controllers to strictly adhere to health safety standards.
• Pump Room Operations: Inspect and monitor pumps, strainers, and filtration systems to ensure optimal performance, proactively identifying and reporting equipment maintenance needs.

Requirements:

• Experience: Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 30 days). Basic understanding of pool water chemistry, automated controllers, and aquatic equipment required.
• Mindset: Exceptional reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of accountability required for early morning shifts.
• Skills: Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs, pulling heavy pool covers, operating vacuum equipment, and standing/walking for extended periods.

Compensation:

• $12 hour
• Part-Time (25 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 4:30 AM - 9:30 AM)
