Job summary

The City of Ann Arbor's Police Department seeks a PSS Cadet on a limited-time basis to gain insight before becoming an Officer. You will work at the front desk, interact with the public, and support initial investigations as you prepare for the police academy.

Upon successful completion, the City will fund academy tuition and related costs, and you may be hired into an entry-level officer role after completing the field training program. This is a pathway program with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• If hired, candidate must be 21 years or older at the start of the FTO program (10 months from date of hire)
• 45 credit hours from an accredited college

Responsibilities

• Interact with the public at the police front desk
• Conduct preliminary investigations for reports and complete traffic crash reports
• Assist with preliminary breath test, fingerprinting, and photographing arrestees/defendants for court
