Job summary

firsthand Health is seeking a Part-Time Consultation-Liaison Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our hospital-based consult service. You will provide same-day psychiatric assessments in the ED and inpatient settings, manage medications, and collaborate with the hospital team to develop treatment plans.

A bridge clinic continuity model follows patients into outpatient care, delivering coordinated treatment and improving outcomes.

Qualifications

• PMHNP-BC certification and Virginia APRN license required.
• ANCC PMHNP certification or equivalent preferred.
• DEA registration with prescribing authority.
• Active enrollment with Medicare/DMAS preferred.
• No licensure sanctions or exclusions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct same-day psychiatric consultations for ED, medical, and surgical teams.
• Collaborate with hospital teams to develop/implement treatment plans.
• Perform rapid assessment and crisis intervention for psychiatric crises.
• Escalate complex cases to consulting psychiatrist as needed.
• Provide outpatient stabilization, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy.
• Develop care pathways with hospital departments and partners.
