Job summary

The City of Raleigh is seeking a part-time Planner to support the Planning and Development department on Raleigh's Next Comprehensive Plan, a major project shaping the city’s growth for the next 25 years.

You will work with tenured colleagues, engage with residents, and help deliver reports and presentations that advance long-range planning goals. Evening/weekend attendance may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent).
• 1 year of planning experience in a relevant area or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of project management, qualitative and quantitative research, and effective presentations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics for a range of public engagement events.
• Provide communications and administrative support for a staff advisory group.
• Collaborate with communications staff to develop promotional materials.
• Synthesize public input into policy in coordination with team members.
