Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
• Current certification or license as required by state law.
• Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile insured and in good working order.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct physical therapy according to directions of a qualified physical therapist and within the plan of care.
• Treats patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Directs and aids patients in exercises, gait and functional training, and prosthetic training.
• Utilizes physical agents (heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, massage).
• Maintains clinical notes and records in the patient’s chart within prescribed time frames.
• Participates in inter-disciplinary group and inservice education programs.
• Participates in quality improvement teams and activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
