Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program with an Associate’s degree approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Current certification or license as required by state law.
• CPR certification must be maintained.
• Must be a licensed driver with a reliable, insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct physical therapy under the direction of a physical therapist according to the plan of care.
• Treats patient to relieve pain, restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Aids patients in therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional activities.
• Utilizes physical agents such as heat, cold, water, ultrasound, and massage as directed.
• Observes patient responses and reports changes to the physical therapist.
• Instructs patients in care and use of mobility aids and devices.
• Maintains clinical documentation within prescribed timeframes.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team and quality improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Associate's degree in science or applied science (PTA)

CPR certification

Current state license/certification

Licensed driver with insured automobile
