Job summary

CALRegional seeks a part-time Phlebotomy Technician Lead Instructor in Fremont, CA. A CPT license and 3 years of CLIA lab experience are required; no teaching experience is necessary. You will guide students through phlebotomy training and model professional behavior.

The program runs 3–12 weeks with morning, day, evening, and weekend options. Schedule is Monday–Thursday, 10:00 am–2:00 pm, at Fremont, CA.

Qualifications

• Current CPT License.
• 3 years of documented on-the-job experience in a CLIA lab within the last 5 years.
• No teaching experience is required.
• Must be proficient in all aspects of blood collection, including capillary, syringe, vacutainer, and butterfly methods.
• Must be comfortable with speaking to large groups, multi-tasking, and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Instructing students in all aspects of the Phlebotomy Technician scope of practice.
• Evaluating, reporting, and recording student performance and progress.
• Prepare students in a 72-hour class to go on to a 40-hour externship in a lab or hospital.
• Assisting students to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.
• Providing a professional role model for students
