Job summary

CALRegional is seeking a part-time Phlebotomy Technician Lead Instructor in San Mateo, CA. The program runs 3–12 weeks with Saturday sessions from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. A CPT license and CLIA lab experience are required; no prior teaching experience is necessary.

You will evaluate student progress, prepare for externships, and model professional healthcare values while guiding aspiring professionals. Compensation ranges from $32 to $34 per hour, with opportunities for bonuses and advancement.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current CPT license.
• 3 years of documented on-the-job experience in a CLIA lab within the last 5 years.
• No teaching experience required.
• Proficient in blood collection methods (capillary, syringe, vacutainer, butterfly).
• Comfortable speaking to large groups; able to multitask and think critically.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in Phlebotomy Technician scope of practice.
• Evaluate, report, and record student performance and progress.
• Prepare students in a 72-hour class to advance to a 40-hour externship.
• Help students develop professional values and attitudes in healthcare.
• Serve as a professional role model for students.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated part-time Phlebotomy Technician Lead Instructor to join our team. We are interested in candidates who are looking to work for a company that is passionate about changing lives and helping build the essential workforce! The Phlebotomy Technician Programs run for 3-12 weeks.

Schedule is: Saturdays; 8:00 am- 5:00 pm

Location: San Mateo, CA

Duties & Responsibilities

• Instructing students in all aspects of the Phlebotomy Technician scope of practice.
• Evaluating, reporting, and recording student performance and progress.
• Prepare students in a 72-hour class to go on to a 40-hour externship in a lab or hospital.
• Assisting students to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.
• Providing a professional role model for students
