• Knowledge of specimen requirements preferred; familiarity with laboratory terminology; ability to read and comprehend written information required; keyboarding skills preferred; ability to work in a fast paced environment; customer service per RITE values.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture, skin puncture or other special collection technique.
• Follows proper patient identification protocols.
• Follows established blood collection protocols.
• Demonstrates a high level of skill; minimizes recollects and contamination.
• Demonstrates excellent knowledge of blood collection fundamentals.
• Prioritizes workload to ensure timely specimen collection and transport.
• Monitors Mobile Care Phlebotomy System and responds timely.
• Communicates status of uncompleted collections.
• Cleans and stocks phlebotomy cart/tray at end of shift.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service.
