Job summary

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a part-time phlebotomist for a 20-hour-per-week float position. The role involves phlebotomy and specimen collection for inpatient and outpatient populations, with shifts including 4:00 a.m.–8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.–1:00 a.m., plus every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, sample transport, and clerical support. Training of new staff may be required, and work is supervised by Medical Technologists.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience preferred or willingness to learn.
• Familiarity with patient identification procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples via venipuncture, heelstick, or fingerstick as required.
• Perform specimen labeling and proper documentation in the information system.
• Assist with clerical tasks and basic lab duties to support operations.
• Train or orient new staff or students as applicable.
