Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Phlebotomist II for part-time hours from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday with a rotational Saturday. The role collects specimens, manages data entry, and supports daily lab operations.

The position requires three years of phlebotomy experience, high school diploma or equivalent, and may prefer medical training or certification where applicable. Competitive pay and benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training preferred (medical assistant or paramedic).
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Verify test orders using lab technology systems and client contact.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Enter billing information and collect payments per policy.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock, sanitizing, filing, phones, and email.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and statistics.
• Complete training courses timely.
