Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Austin, TX is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist to support donor screening and plasmapheresis operations. You will greet donors, perform venipuncture, monitor during donation, and assist with equipment setup and troubleshooting.

The role requires customer-facing experience, reliability with scheduled hours, and ability to lift light to moderate weights. Evening and weekend availability is expected on a part-time schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
• Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
• Ability to lift to 5 lbs, and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs and rarely 50 lbs.
• Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
• Because of potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1), 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear.
• 1 or more years minimum experience working in a customer or patient facing role is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
• Perform venipuncture and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
• Monitor donors during the donation process and manage donor reactions.
• Set up, verify, operate, and troubleshoot plasmapheresis equipment per training.
• Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on plasmapheresis machines.
• Stock supplies and assist with proper disposal.
• Record donor vital signs and enter data into the DIS.
• Coordinate donors to donor floor and compensate donors using the Debit Card system.
• Identify operational opportunities for process improvements.
