Job summary

Advocate Health’s Oshkosh retail pharmacy is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists with technical duties and medication distribution.

You will assist with labeling, inventory, and data entry into the pharmacy system, and immunization support where allowed, following USP standards and safety policies. A high school diploma is required and technician certification must be obtained within 18 months from start date.

Qualifications

• Registration or licensure with state board of pharmacy per state of employment requirements.
• Must receive certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) or National Healthcareer Association (ExCPT) within 18 months from start date.
• No work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
• Selects, prepares, and labels medications for patients, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assists with medication distribution tasks and inventory control.
• Screens calls and routes using proper telephone etiquette.
• Performs nonsterile compounding and sterile IV admixture where applicable.
• Maintains storage areas and documents medication histories as applicable.
• Supports training of technicians and adheres to organizational policies and standards.
