Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Working toward licensed technician certification through a certified national program required.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers and assisting them.
• Handle inquiries that do not require pharmacist expertise and judgment.
• Accept new written prescriptions and telephoned refill requests for pharmacist approval.
• Contact doctors for refills as needed and maintain patient information accurately.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drug products for dispensing and labeling.
• Submit insurance claims and troubleshoot third-party billing.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in line with HIPAA.
• Stock pharmacy supplies, log invoices, and manage cash transactions.
• Administer vaccines where allowed by law and as certified.
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and adhere to all policies and safety rules.
