Job summary

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is seeking an innovative adjunct instructor for the Pharmacy Technician Program. The successful candidate will teach a maximum of 12 credits per semester (fall/spring), which could include day, evening, weekend, off-campus, or distance education courses.

The applicant must be nationally certified pharmacy technician with at least five years of experience; Virginia registration or pharmacist license; and prior pharmacy‑side training capability.

Qualifications

• PTCB Certification required
• Five or more years pharmacy technician experience
• Ability to deliver instruction in the classroom, online, and in lab environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 12 credits per semester (fall/spring), including day, evening, weekend, off-campus, or distance education courses.
• Write syllabi, exams, and assessments; develop learning strategies and curriculum.
• Train future pharmacy technicians with expert-level knowledge; ensure student success.
• Maintain knowledge of local healthcare facilities and systems.
