Job summary

Vista Specialty Hospital in Louisiana is seeking a Pharmacist to work with the Director of Pharmacy, dispensing medications and pharmacy supplies per physician prescriptions. The role supports performance improvement plans and advises Administration and Medical Staff on quality, regulatory and risk issues.

You will supervise technical staff, assist in clinical, quality management and education programs, and provide care for patients aged 18 to 65+ years, including geriatric patients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Must have a valid license in the state of facility location.
• At least 1 year of hospital experience as a Pharmacist preferred.
• Safety Sensitive-Designated Position

Responsibilities

• Compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies per physician prescriptions.
• Collaborates with Director of Pharmacy and participates in Performance Improvement plans.

Participates on Performance Improvement plans within the hospital. Supports and serves as consultant to all clinical and Medical Staff. Assists the Director in coordinating and implementing the activities of the Pharmacy. Interprets medication orders, compounds and dispenses medication and other pharmaceutical preparations in accordance with the legal, ethical and professional standards of pharmacy practice. Supervises the technical support staff. Assists with clinical, quality management and education programs.
