Job summary

YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking a part-time Personal Trainer at Upper Main Line YMCA in Berwyn, PA. You will develop and conduct personal training sessions for members, perform fitness assessments, and ensure safe, professional service.

The role requires current PT certification, knowledge of exercise principles, and a preference for candidates pursuing a degree in exercise science or health-related fields. Some additional certifications within 90 days are required.

Qualifications

• Possesses and maintains a personal training certification. Must be on the current list shown on the NCCA/ICE website.
• Knowledge of basic and advanced exercise principles required.
• Strong interest in health and fitness; working towards a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or health-related preferred.
• Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct personal training sessions and fitness assessments as scheduled in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous, and professional manner.
• Communicate with current and potential personal training clients in a timely fashion.
• Follow YMCA of Greater Brandywine guidelines for screening personal training clients.
• Report to scheduled sessions on time and be available to provide assistance.
• Ensure proper exercise techniques are utilized by all members.
• Report any equipment or maintenance issues to supervisor and document them.
• Encourage members to wipe down equipment after use during orientation and training sessions.
• Promote a healthy lifestyle and participation in programs.
• Follow all wellness center and staff policies and procedures.
• Participate in events and open houses throughout the year.
