Qualifications

• Knowledge of documentation standards and demonstrated skill to meet documentation expectations
• Knowledge of pertinent law and regulations regarding mental health service delivery and Pennsylvania Special Education
• Ability to use technology as applicable
• Ability to work with diverse groups of students in various socioeconomic and multicultural areas
• Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Supports students at the direction of the teacher and the special education supervisor
• Provides instructional, behavioral and/or physical assistance to an individual student or a small group of students including assistive technology and on-task prompting
• Works with students on organizational skills, guides activities, and monitors progress
• Collects daily data and documents progress notes in a prescribed format for each session
• Meets and discharges assigned students at the bus
• Aids students in removing and putting on wraps, bathing, feeding and toileting
• Assists students during recreational and training games
• Assists students in the use of teaching devices and materials
• Follows teacher's instructions for reinforcing activities in various learning modalities
• Attends meetings as required
• Other duties may be assigned by leadership
