Job summary

City of Pleasant Hill is seeking a part-time Permit Technician to perform technical and office support in the Engineering division. You will review permit applications, track plans, calculate fees, and issue over-the-counter permits while providing information to the public.

The position requires 24.5–37 hours weekly with a typical schedule of 32 hours, Monday through Thursday. Hourly pay ranges from $35.07 to $46.52, depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Three years of office support experience with public contact.
• At least one year in Engineering or Building department preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review permit applications related to building, site development, and occupancy; check plans for completeness and basic review.
• Calculate and collect permit fees; issue over-the-counter permits; track plans through the permitting process.
• Provide information to visitors and respond to inquiries by phone and at the counter; maintain records and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with inspectors, finance, and other departments to ensure timely plan checks and approvals.
