Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Perishable Department Associate to provide quality customer service and maintain department standards. You will handle merchandise, receive and rotate stock, and ensure product levels across meat, dairy and frozen sections, while following safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, using inventory tools, and maintaining cleanliness, compliance with regulations, and proper display of promotions.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly, and accurate service.
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO.
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise per policy.
• Maintain proper product levels in all Perishable areas (meat, lunchmeat, dairy, ice cream).
• Process beef and grinds as directed from the production tool.
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat case as requested.
• Assemble, disassemble and clean the grinder as needed.
• Clean and sanitize the department; maintain layout standards.
• Utilize advertising and promotions materials appropriately.
• Follow Food Lion guidelines, policies and standard practices.
• Adhere to Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions; report accidents to the Manager on Duty.
• Comply with local, state and federal regulations.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with apron and name badge.
• Complete CBT, Training Packet and Training Aid courses.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
