Job summary

The Office of Academic Support Services for Student-Athletes at Seton Hall University in South Orange is seeking peer tutors for the 2026-2027 academic year. Tutors will work with students from our 14 intercollegiate sports teams in both individual and mini group sessions and also drop-in evening tutoring sessions.

Tutors provide one-to-one academic support, adhere to Seton Hall University policies on integrity and NCAA regulations, and commit at least 10 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be current Seton Hall Undergraduate students.
• Good communication skills, problem-solving skills, and a high level of responsibility are expected.
• Sophomore status or higher and provide a minimum of 10 hours of availability a week for appointments and/or drop-in sessions.
• You must have at least a 3.2 Cumulative GPA and a B+ or higher in a class you hope to tutor.
• Peer tutors are sought in a variety of subject areas including but not limited to: Business, Mathematics, Sciences, English and languages, CORE 1101 & 2101, Humanities.

Responsibilities

• One-to-one peer tutoring.
• Tutors will adhere to Seton Hall University policies on academic integrity and community standards, and NCAA regulations.
• Tutors will support drop-in evening tutoring sessions.
• Tutors serve as a resource to assist other students academically.
