Job summary

The Office of Academic Support Services for Student-Athletes at Seton Hall University in South Orange is seeking peer tutors for the 2026-2027 academic year. Tutors will work with students from our 14 intercollegiate sports teams in both individual and mini group sessions and also drop-in evening tutoring sessions.

Tutors provide one-to-one academic support, adhere to Seton Hall University policies on integrity and NCAA regulations, and commit at least 10 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be current Seton Hall Undergraduate students.
• Good communication skills, problem-solving skills, and a high level of responsibility are expected.
• Sophomore status or higher and provide a minimum of 10 hours of availability a week for appointments and/or drop-in sessions.
• You must have at least a 3.2 Cumulative GPA and a B+ or higher in a class you hope to tutor.
• Peer tutors are sought in a variety of subject areas including but not limited to: Business, Mathematics, Sciences, English and languages, CORE 1101 & 2101, Humanities.

Responsibilities

Peer tutors will work with students from our 14 intercollegiate sports teams in both individual and mini group sessions and also drop-in evening tutoring sessions.

Duties & Responsibilities

One to one peer tutoring. Tutors serve as a resource to assist other students academically. Tutors will adhere to Seton Hall University policies on academic integrity and community standards, in addition to the policies and regulations set forth by the BIG EAST Conference and the NCAA.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must be current Seton Hall Undergraduate students.
