Job summary

AMHC is seeking a compassionate peer support professional to assist participants in the Adult Treatment Recovery Court in Ellsworth, Maine. This part-time position focuses on one-on-one and group support, utilizing lived recovery experience to motivate participants toward recovery and stability.

You will help participants navigate court requirements, connect with community resources, and collaborate with the recovery court team in a supportive, confidential manner.

Qualifications

• Lived recovery experience and ability to share insights.
• Experience within or with the criminal justice system is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Nonjudgmental, supportive demeanor for individuals in recovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group peer support services.
• Use lived experience to inspire hope and resilience.
• Support participants in achieving recovery goals.
• Help identify strengths and overcome barriers.
• Connect participants with community resources and recovery supports.
• Encourage self-advocacy and accountability.
• Assist with navigating treatment court requirements.
• Document services and maintain confidentiality.
