Job summary

Bristol County Rehabilitation Services in Middletown, Rhode Island, is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist to support students within the educational setting. Licensure/certification as required by state law is required, with the ability to integrate therapy into school curricula and student programs.

Responsibilities include planning daily therapy activities, providing direct PT services, developing IEP/504 goals, coordinating with parents and staff, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Licensure/certification as required by state law and/or regulations.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with school staff to facilitate the educational participation for children with physical disabilities.
• Integrate therapy service into schools’ curricula and within a student’s program.
• Plan daily physical therapy activities and provide direct physical therapy services to students as required by IEPs and Section 504 Plans.
• Develop and maintain current student service delivery schedules.
• Participate in the special education evaluation process as appropriate.
• Develop PT goals and objectives for IEPs and 504 Plans.
• Consult with parents, educational personnel, doctors, medical agencies and vendors.
• Design and adapt the physical environment and equipment.
• Evaluate students using standardized and non-standardized techniques.
• Complete PT evaluations meeting IDEA requirements.
• Maintain accurate records on treatment programs and student progress.
