Swift Staffing in Baltimore is seeking a part-time PC Technician for an IT consultant/education client. The role involves installing wireless access points at a college and handling basic setup tasks.

This one-to-two month contract offers a non-negotiable rate of $18.00 per hour, with benefits including weekly pay, health insurance, and bonuses. Ideal candidates have 3+ months wireless troubleshooting experience and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Three months of wireless point access IT troubleshooting experience required.
• A+ or Network+ certification may substitute some experience.
• Must be able to move equipment campus-wide.
• Must have own vehicle and valid driver's license.
• Must pass FBI background check and drug testing.
• Shift 2 to 5 hours between 8:00 am–1:00 pm, Mon–Fri, with a 30-minute lunch.

Responsibilities

• Securely mount wireless access points to ceilings, walls, or poles.
• Input initial settings, configure SSIDs, and apply security passwords.
• Use network testing tools to verify signal strength and optimize coverage.
• Run, diagnose, secure, and organize cabling as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues.

Job description

Part Time PC Technician needed for our information technology consultant/education client in Baltimore City. The Part Time PC Technician will help with wireless access point installations at a college. One to two month contract position. The non-negotiable pay rate is $18.00 per hour.

Essential Duties:

• Securely mount wireless access points to ceilings, walls, or poles using basic hand and power tools.
• Input initial settings, configure Wi-Fi names (SSIDs), and apply security passwords using deployment software.
• Use network testing tools to verify signal strength, optimize coverage, and fix dead zones.
• Run, diagnose, secure, and organize cabling as needed
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues.Run, diagnose, secure, and organize cabling as needed.

• At least three months of wireless point access IT troubleshooting experience is required.
• A or Network+ certification may substitute some of the experience.
• Must be able to move equipment and devices campus wide.
• Must have own vehicle, valid Driver's License and good driving record.
• Must be able to work from a two to five hour shift between 8:00 am-1:00 pm as needed Monday through Friday with a 30 minute non paid lunch.
• Must be able to pass an FBI background check and drug testing.
