Qualifications

• Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills; able to create and maintain process documentation.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time schedule and meet payroll deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Costpoint labor/timesheets and leave/accounting entries; ADP data exports/imports.
• Assist with multi-state payroll and wage compliance under supervision.
• Support General Ledger posting and AP as needed.

About the role:

The Payroll Accounting Specialist supports corporate payroll and related accounting processes on a part-time, remote basis. This role is Costpoint-centric. The specialist monitors, analyzes, and controls payroll processing activity with a strong emphasis on Deltek Costpoint labor, timesheets, Health & Welfare (H&W), leave, and SCA employee payroll requirements. It includes labor uploads from Costpoint into ADP, payroll processing in ADP Workforce Now, and recording ADP payroll costs in Costpoint’s General Ledger. The role also supports payroll reporting, compliance with applicable local, state, and federal rules, and may assist with Accounts Payable and expense processing as assigned.

This position is remote and part‑time. Schedule and weekly hours will be set with the Accounting Manager based on payroll cycle needs.

Responsibilities:

• Day‑to‑day timesheet management in Deltek Costpoint / Time & Expense, including periodic floor checks and follow‑up
• Collect timesheets at end of pay period, validate accuracy, solicit and track corrections, then import into Costpoint
• Calculate SCA Health & Welfare and related allowance lines; compute and post leave accruals in Costpoint
• Process and support multi‑state payroll for SCA and non‑SCA populations under supervision of the Accounting Manager
• Prefer experience running or supporting payroll through ADP (Workforce Now / Run or equivalent); ability to learn PSI's payroll export/import path from Costpoint to the payroll system of record
• New employee setup in Costpoint (and ADP when applicable); Time administration including workforces, approval groups, and initial logins
• PAR management and tracking for pay / status changes affecting Costpoint and payroll
• Collect and file payroll reports; assist with General Ledger import post‑payroll
• Monitor incentives or advances that need to be recovered from terminated employees
• Insurance reconciliations and reporting as assigned
• Audit support and ad hoc reports requiring Costpoint labor / payroll data
• Track and process invoices received, request approvals, and enter into Accounts Payable as assigned
• Process payments by check, wire, ACH, or online as assigned
• Monitor and process expense reports; Expense module administration (access, employee support, troubleshooting) as assigned
• Document Costpoint and payroll procedures in clear written SOPs

Required Qualifications:

• Strong, hands‑on experience with Deltek Costpoint for labor, timesheets, payroll‑related setup, and reporting (this is a core requirement, not a nice‑to‑have)
• Direct experience supporting SCA employees (H&W, prevailing wage / WD concepts, SCA leave or fringe handling as used by the employer)
• Working knowledge of multi‑state payroll
• Basic understanding of full‑cycle accounting with emphasis on Payroll (and Accounts Payable a plus), including how payroll flows into the General Ledger
• Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills; able to create and maintain process documentation
• Associate degree or higher, or equivalent payroll / accounting experience
• Ability to work independently in a remote, part‑time schedule and meet payroll deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

• ADP payroll experience (Workforce Now, Run, or similar)
• Government contract / GovCon accounting experience beyond Costpoint labor entry
• Prior experience with Costpoint Time & Expense administration at scale
• Experience with off‑cycle / final checks, supplemental payroll, and terminated‑employee processing

Work Arrangement:

• Must be available around key payroll cycle dates as directed by the Accounting Manager
