Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative who will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and guiding them through scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification and financial clearance. This part-time role (20 hours per week) includes weekends and holidays with rotating shifts.

You will ensure accurate data entry, knowledge of insurance carriers and Medicare guidelines, and support patients with compassionate, mission-driven

Qualifications

• 1-3 years clerical experience and customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, register patients and handle pre-certification.
• Verify benefits and obtain financial clearance, including pre-visit collection.
• Maintain accurate patient data and communicate with insurance carriers.
