Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a health vocational program such as Patient Access or Medical Billing & Insurance.
• Or at least 1 year of experience in admitting, patient registration, or related healthcare duties.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate patient admissions/registrations per policy and regulatory requirements.
• Obtain inpatient bed assignments and process admissions, including arm banding and form completion.
• Pre-admit scheduled inpatients, outpatients and ambulatory patients to facilitate smooth registration.
• Enter reservation details in the computer system and notify relevant departments.
• Conduct bedside or telephone interviews to collect demographic, insurance and third-party liability information.
• Perform eligibility verification and determine need for financial assistance with Financial Counselor referrals as needed.
