Job summary

SP+, a Metropolis Company, is seeking a Traffic Control Attendant for the South Miami location on a part-time basis. The role involves managing vehicle flow, directing parking and keeping the lot tidy, with a pay rate of $15.00 per hour. Shifts are Tue and Wed from 9 a.m.

to 1:00 p.m., with additional Friday–Monday AM shifts available for those seeking more hours. Ideal candidates can read and understand simple instructions, write basic notes, and communicate clearly with customers.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience Required: Less than High School education or one month related experience, training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• License Requirement: The individual will only be required to have and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license, with a current address and acceptable driving record, if the individual is expected to be able to drive a company vehicle or drive on company business.
• Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on a location's hiring needs. If applicable, availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or weekends may be a requirement.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers and other employees of the company.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, two digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
• Appearance: Employees will be required to maintain a neat and clean appearance and be in complete uniform at all times.

Responsibilities

• Position: Traffic Control Attendant.
• Pay Rate: $15.00/hr.
• Location: South Miami.
• Part-Time: Tuesday and Wednesday / 9 a.m to 1:00.pm.
• Full-Time Opportunity: Candidates looking for full-time hours can pick up additional shifts at the Port of Miami. Available shifts are Friday through Monday during the morning (AM) shift.
• Basic Function: Ensures that the appropriate number of cars is kept on location throughout shift, cars are being parked in an appropriate fashion and the lot is kept clean and presentable.
• At work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform.
• Courteously assist customers by answering any questions they may have.
• Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed.
• Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Facility or Senior Manager.
• Communicate debris, water, oil spills and etc. to Facility or Senior Manager.
• Have a thorough knowledge of the major streets, landmarks and freeways in the area of the lot.
• Assist Facility or Senior Manager with other duties as needed.
