Job summary

Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks in Ohio is seeking a part-time Park Ranger to support visitor services, safety, and basic park operations under supervision. You will welcome visitors, answer questions, give directions, conduct park rounds by foot, bike, or vehicle, perform light maintenance, and assist with events and programs, including first aid when needed.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, strong customer service and communication skills, and availability

Qualifications

Possession of a High School diploma or GED; additional education or experience in customer service or environmental science/natural resources/conservation or related field preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with coworkers, supervisors, the general public, local law enforcement personnel; ability to complete routine forms.
Strong customer service, interpersonal skills and ability to work on a team.

Responsibilities

Greet visitors and provide information and directions.
Conduct regular rounds to maintain safety and visibility throughout the park.
Perform light maintenance, restroom/shelter cleaning, and assist with park facilities.
Assist with special events, including setup, parking logistics, and traffic control.
Respond to injuries or emergencies following established protocols and report findings.
Enforce park rules and promote Metro Parks programs and amenities.
