Job summary

The City of Moreno Valley is seeking a Park Ranger to patrol parks and facilities, educate visitors on park rules, report violations, and respond to safety concerns. You will act as a visible and approachable presence, assisting the public and working with City departments to keep parks safe and welcoming.

The role involves supporting park programs and events, recording activities, and performing light maintenance and cleanup while upholding environmental stewardship and community safety values.

Qualifications

• There is a high school diploma or GED requirement with about two years of related park security or maintenance work and heavy public contact.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desirable.
• Must have a valid California driver’s license and be insurable under city policy.
• Advanced first-aid and CPR certificates or the ability to obtain them within six months.
• Must meet background check, psychological evaluation and medical exam requirements.

Responsibilities

• Patrol parks and designated facilities to enforce rules and ensure safety.
• Educate visitors on park rules and regulations and report violations.
• Respond to safety concerns and emergencies as a visible community presence.
• Provide information and assistance to the public and collaborate with city departments.
• Support park programs and events and help with minor maintenance and cleanup.
• Maintain accurate activity records and assist with environmental stewardship.
