Job summary

City of Kannapolis is seeking a Park Operations Specialist for the Parks and Recreation Department. The role involves performing skilled work across various park operation areas, under general supervision, and reporting to a Recreation Coordinator, Park Manager, or Grounds Manager.

The position includes duties such as grounds maintenance, equipment operation after training, custodial tasks, and support for special events. Requires 18+ years, a valid NC license, and CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED is required; must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be certified in First Aid and CPR or able to pass certification.
• Valid NC driver's license or ability to obtain prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, litter pickup, and trash collection.
• Operate equipment such as utility vehicles or tool-cat after training and safety requirements are met.
• Assist with routine cleaning and custodial duties.
• Provide manual labor for special events, including transporting equipment or operating tool-cat to load/unload.
