Job summary

Town of Brattleboro is seeking a Park Maintenance Worker (Part-Time) to perform maintenance and upkeep of recreation areas administered by the Recreation & Parks Department, with a schedule of Monday–Friday up to 20 hours per week.

The role involves mowing, pool maintenance, cleaning facilities, snow plowing, operating equipment, and basic record-keeping, with supervision from Park Maintenance Supervisor; on-call shifts and seasonal schedule changes apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in the maintenance of grounds and buildings.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to operate and maintain park equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance work of a routine nature on buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Mows grass, cuts brush, and cares for shrubbery.
• Pool maintenance.
• Cleans bath houses and toilets.
• Cleans up litter.
• Groom Athletic fields.
• Plows snow from roads and walks.
• Operates equipment such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, trucks and tractors.
• Does mechanical work on park equipment under supervision.
• Participates in safety training and on-call schedule.
