Job summary

Nexus Family Healing in Mendota Heights, MN, seeks a part-time Parent Partner for the Youth ACT team. The role provides hands-on, trauma-informed, family-guided peer support to parents of youth in services, coordinating with families and providers to reduce hospitalizations and improve community-based outcomes.

Responsibilities include engaging families, advocating for resources, and delivering parent skill-building guidance within a multidisciplinary team. Flexible evenings may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have prior experience as the primary parent or caregiver of a child with emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges.
• Completion of a DHS-approved Certified Family Peer Specialist Training and certificate exam is required.

Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates positive family involvement in the treatment process using trauma-informed, strength-based engagement techniques.
• Creates community relationships to enhance resource and referral opportunities.
• Connects with all families entering the program to engage and build involvement.
• Participates in initial family information-gathering and assessment to help identify needs and develop treatment goals.
