Job summary

Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana is seeking a part-time Paraprofessional to provide in-person academic support at The Excel Center on the northeast side of Indianapolis. The role includes assisting with coursework, attendance, enrollment, and coordinating school operations to promote an organized learning environment.

Ideal candidates will have tutoring capability, a mindset for student success, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Degree and Credential Requirements: NONE; we value capability and prior experience.
• Tutoring Expertise: ability to explain concepts to high school-age students in urban/nontraditional settings.
• Academic Mindset: belief that all students can succeed and improve outcomes.

• Communication Skills: clear oral, written, visual and digital communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with in-person coursework and remediation while maintaining an organized classroom environment.
• Establish and maintain student accounts in the student information system.
• Collect, record, and distribute assignments and academic documents as needed.
• Track student and school data to support achievement goals and continuous improvement.
• Monitor testing, independent study periods, and attendance; support enrollment processes.
• Support on-site enrollment, iExcel participation, and orientation for new students.
• Coordinate with staff to set goals related to graduation outcomes and postsecondary planning.
• Assist with staff training and development activities as needed.
