The position supports 24 hours per week over two days and requires active Indiana Paramedic licensure, BLS, and PALS/ACLS certifications, with a focus on safe, timely patient transport and meticulous documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Active Paramedic license through the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS).
• BLS certification required.
• PALS & ACLS certifications issued by AHA or ARC.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by IDHS.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care within department protocols and scope of practice.
• Initiates actions to alleviate patient distress.
• Recognizes and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Completes required documentation and reports within required timeframes.
• Maintains environment of care and readiness of ambulance and equipment.
• Performs ambulance transportation within Paramedic scope.
• Sets priorities for transporting multiple patients.
• Coordinates plan of delivery and resource utilization.
• Maintains familiarity with fleet vehicles and equipment readiness.
