Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking a part-time RN in Palliative Care to deliver patient-centered nursing care across ages, performing assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation in collaboration with the care team and families.

You will document in EPIC, apply evidence-based practice, advocate for patients, participate in performance improvement, and support education for patients and caregivers while maintaining compassion and respect.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program, eligible for Virginia RN licensure.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required depending on unit.
• Computer skills required for EPIC and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for all ages.
• Coordinate with health care team and family to develop interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Document and monitor patient care in EPIC; ensure accurate records.
• Provide patient/family education and advocate for patient rights and needs.
• Contribute to performance improvement and staff education.
