Job summary

The Part-Time Package Handler will load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner to ensure quick delivery. You will work on assigned shifts with steady pace and attention to safety and quality. This position is on site at Spee Dee Delivery in Minnesota and offers early morning or evening schedules.

Wages range from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on experience. Must be at least 16 years old, with a high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles
• Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes
• Sort each package by zip code, city, or state
• Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently
• Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed
• Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Hours and Wages

• Available Shift Times:
  • Tuesday-Saturday, 6:00AM-9:30AM
  • Monday-Friday, 4:30PM-8:30PM
• $18.00-20.00 per hour, based on experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles
• Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes
• Sort each package by zip code, city, or state
• Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently
• Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed
• Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• At least 16 years of age

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
