Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. in Mason City, IA, is seeking a Part-Time Package Handler to load, unload, and sort freight accurately and quickly for timely deliveries. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 5:00 AM–9:00 AM, with pay $18.00–$20.00 per hour based on experience.

Applicants must be at least 16; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Responsibilities include unloading by hand, scanning barcodes, sorting by ZIP code or city, stacking freight, and keeping the warehouse clean

Responsibilities

• Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.

• Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed.
• Perform light custodial duties to keep a clean warehouse.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest.

Job Summary

The Part-Time Package Handler will load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner to ensure quick delivery.

Hours and Wages

• Tuesday-Saturday, 5:00AM-9:00AM
• $18.00-20.00 per hour, based on experience

Duties And Responsibilities

• Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles
• Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes
• Sort each package by zip code, city, or state
• Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently
• Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed
• Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education And Experience

• At least 16 years of age

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
