Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a part-time Package Handler to load, unload, and sort freight accurately and quickly to ensure timely deliveries. The role will operate in our warehouse environment with a 4:00 PM start, Monday through Friday.

The responsibilities include unloading packages from fleet vehicles, scanning barcodes for tracking, sorting by zip code, city, or state, and stacking freight to maximize space while preventing damage. A 401(k) plan is offered as a benefit.

Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently.
• Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed.
• Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest.

Job Summary

The Part-Time Package Handler will load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner to ensure quick delivery.

Hours and Wages

• Monday-Friday, 4:00PM Start
• $18.00-20.00 per hour, based on experience

Duties And Responsibilities

• Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles
• Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes
• Sort each package by zip code, city, or state
• Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently
• Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed
• Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education And Experience

• At least 16 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
