Job summary

St.-John College of Pharmacy invites qualified Physician Assistants to join as part-time, hourly laboratory educators for the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Program. Under supervision, you will support hands-on instruction, student practice, and formative feedback across multiple labs, including anatomy, health history, surgical procedures, and clinical mastery laboratories.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an ARC‑PA‑accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Current NY State license or eligibility.
• Ability to demonstrate clinical and procedural skills safely.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback to graduate students.
• Ability to work collaboratively and follow the instructional plan.
• Commitment to student confidentiality, academic integrity, professionalism, and inclusivity.

Responsibilities

• Attend and provide instruction during assigned laboratory sessions.
• Review objectives and materials before each session.
• Prepare to teach and demonstrate skills assigned by the course coordinator.
• Provide small-group and individual instruction to PA students.
• Demonstrate clinical, diagnostic, and procedural skills using professional standards.
• Observe students and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Reinforce patient communication, professionalism, infection-control, and safety.
• Maintain a respectful, inclusive learning environment.
• Ensure students follow safety procedures and use equipment properly.
• Assist with skills practice, check-offs, exams, simulations, or assessments.
• Apply evaluation criteria consistently in student assessments.
• Communicate student performance or safety concerns to the course coordinator.
• Maintain student confidentiality and comply with university policies.
• Perform other instructional lab activities as directed.
