Job Description

Purpose & Scope:

Occupational therapy involves the therapeutic use of everyday activities to enhance participation in roles, habits, and routines across various settings such as home, school, workplace, and community. Practitioners design intervention plans based on the transactional relationship among the individual, their engagement in meaningful activities, and the context, aiming to facilitate growth in body functions, structures, values, beliefs, spirituality, and skills (motor, process, social interaction). The goal is to enable successful participation, often through environmental adaptations and modifications. Services encompass habilitation, rehabilitation, and health promotion for clients with diverse needs, including the preservation of occupational identity in the face of illness or disability.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy is required.
• Master's degree in occupational therapy is preferred.

Experience:

• At least one year of experience in occupational therapy is preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

• Licensed Occupational Therapist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions is required.
• BLS certification is required.
