Job summary

Behavioral Health Associates (BHA) seeks a part-time Outpatient Counselor to provide professional counseling to individuals, couples, and families in an outpatient setting. The role includes assessments, treatment planning, and delivering evidence-based interventions.

The counselor will work within a multidisciplinary team, maintain documentation, and stay current with best practices. Strong communication and empathy are essential for client-centered care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required or equivalent.
• Full and unrestricted state licensure recommended (LPC, LCSW, LMFT).
• 1–2 years of clinical counseling experience in mental health settings.
• Experience providing individual and group therapy.
• Knowledge of DSM-5-TR and clinical assessment tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments to evaluate clients’ needs and treatment goals.
• Develop individualized, strengths-based treatment plans with measurable goals.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling using evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, Motivational Interviewing).
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans to improve outcomes.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Maintain confidential, compliant clinical documentation and billing records.
